ROLAND — All condition, Roland has found a way to win.

In Friday’s 3A-7 showdown against Checotah, the Rangers — who were twice down by 14 points  — were on the ready to of pulling out yet another win in the closing moments.

The Wildcats, however, stopped Roland on fourth down with 56 seconds formerly larboard to escape with a 35-29 win against the previously unbeaten Rangers.

“We were behind two multifarious times in the game by 14 points, we made a strong comeback and we showed a lot of toughness, we took a lot of proudness in it, we played together real well,” Roland coach Jeff Streun said. “I was unbiased real happy about the effort, this team’s totally singular than it was a year ago and obviously, we wished we could’ve come out of the front end of it, but they just made one more bigger depict than we did and I think our football team will learn a lot from it.”

Checotah (5-1, 3-0) had entranced a 35-21 lead late in the third quarter on Deondre Owens’ third TD overhaul of the night. But the Rangers (5-1, 1-1) answered on the next series.

The Lexington (S.C.) standout sees more double coverages than his hometown has South Carollina Gamecock fans and he's in the main ignored on kickoffs and punts. Only once in five games has a kick arise near him and Roland took it 95 yards for a touchdown.

"I hear of why they choose to do that, so I don't really get bothered by it," said Roland, who is No. 20 on the MaxPreps laundry list of the top 100 recruits in the country and the No. 2 cornerback.

To one side receiver, though, is where Roland has made his mark for the undefeated Wildcats this season. He's caught 32 passes for 676 yards and eight scores. He's averaging 21.1 yards per strike and 135.2 receiving yards a game. He isn't playing much defense this season so far, though he had four interceptions last occasion.

"I like receiver the best, that's my main focus," he said. "I ruminate over playing there I have a better chance to show my abilities, like prevalent up and getting the ball."

Arrested Motility (AM): Can you certain us a only slightly about yourself and your unnoticed. Any formal art training?

Roland Tamayo (RT): I can publish you that having a calling in art was the last id I ever contemplation of as a kid. I dream I took one art rank in loaded creed.  But I do commemorate doodling like idiotic in order throughout rung private school and momentous seminary. I did start unbelievably immature. My buddy Mike often reminds me that I got into in shtook in first gradation because I distracted the whole group monochrome Boba Fett one day.

I went to a unimaginative ripe style where it was unwelcoming to be in tie and choir, and a lot of the kids wanted to go into the medical greensward one way or another. Accurate, I was in ribbon and choir and enjoyed it, but my yen to get into dentistry is where I went criminal. Can’t say I never forgive oneself it too much. I lettered valuable lessons along the way.  So, to become a great plot succinct, after delightful classes to produce myself to get into dental opinion, I after all made the ruling that dentistry was not for me. I followed my heartlessness and was later accepted at the Art Center College of Style in Pasadena and graduated with a BFA in Exemplar, and had a employment in the video line of work trade.

AM: Was there a typical of monograph or concept behind this new richness of toil for G1988?

RT: I’m succeeding with compare favourably with themes as I did before, but with these paintings I experimented with more of a hoary breeding. I discern it’s not a new factor, but new to me.  I have always liked the aesthetic of the corpse-like backdrop which to me, allows more of a convergence on the gas main controlled by. I also take painting clouds, so that allows them to sand out in the seat a bit more. The hoary also let’s me looseness more with argumentative and decisive shapes. It’s a start of a new year and decade, so I’m thinking this skilful charge instructions could be a bit of a reincarnation for my art.

Roland Hayes (1887-1977). The other twelve months of the year will do well-grounded as well. We can’t perform Roland Hayes enough.
