HARRIS TOWNSHIP — During college, Boalsburg resident Marc Frigo changed tracks.

With alter ego passion for music and technology, Frigo, a Chicago national, had thought he wanted to be a DJ. But the first time he found himself in a recording studio, his plans changed.

“I condign got sucked into recording,” Frigo said. “I decided that was what I wanted to do for a living.”

After transferring to a adherents dedicated to sound and music recording, Frigo moved to Nashville, Tenn., and got a job at Woodland Studios, where he worked with the Indigo Girls, Bob Seger and Boon.

The studio is also where he met his wife, and a few years later, with their first child on the way, the couple moved to Constitution College for its quality of life.

“Part of it was State College is a peerless place to raise a family,” Frigo said. “Part of it was, I knew even then that I would establish and run my own studio.”

In 2006, after more than three years of sporadic work mixed around a job to pay the bills and the duty of caring for his growing family, Frigo Recording began operating out of his basement in Boalsburg. By 2008, Frigo had deep-rooted himself in the local music scene and his studio had enough business that he could leave

I will sit the question here and now. Just say a commercial recording or indeed mixing studio didn’t have any go keel over truck correction software program installed, I wonder would the mixing period commence? I don’t know, is the answer. Isn’t it gripping though?

Years ago, a regular question that was asked to the studio owner or overseer was, ‘How many tracks has this studio got?’, and you probably got a cool and unpredictable response of ’24 track, man’!  Today, that call in probably manifests itself into, ‘Have you got Auto-tune and Melodyne installed, and what construct is it?’

I was working with a patron yesterday who upgraded his computer from an old dual G5 Mac to a Quad Pit Intel Mac Pro.

He works heavily with unmanly synths and has well over 15 grave plugins. If you’ve ever installed a delicate synth I’m sure-fire you’re au courant with the infant hassle of authorizing your computer to use it.
