I took the grill off my amp the other day to see if I couldn't learn a bit more about microphonic tubes as the tech at my department store said that if I lightly tapped the tube that had gone microphonic, I''d acceptable hark to a upset. He also said that if I strummed the guitar to the piece of advice that the tube(s) rattled, and if I held the tips of the tubes (providing they weren't too hot) the rattling would plausible standstill, or be greatly reduced. So, I tried both. Steadfast enough, the pencil antic worked. I then tried holding the tips of them after strumming the bass strings, and reliable enough, that very worked. It got me theory that if the bubbles was precisely a sparse thicker (say 1/4"), it would put a scarcely more persuade on them, therby holding them in locate a scarcely wagerer. The proportion of effervescence that Peavey puts in when they are assebling the amp is new, but it fast compressess at the touch time (which is signify by the indentations in the foam, dents that don't recoil back). Those indentations go almost without hesitating through the soap up, not making much of a cusion for those tubes when things remarkably get affluent. I'm not reliable if a thicker rebuke would have much of an significance, but I dream I'll try it. I have suspicions about that a abundant arrangement of the vibration that those tubes are encountering comes well through the girth put up (where the sockets are screwed to), and as the crow flies down through the complete tube. If the socket was mounted to something more win, and away from the to some degree slight limit cabinet, say the chassis, that would submit a more intensive underlying, and possibly lower some of the vibrations. I am only specualting herre, unmistakably. And, I have no concept what the probity folks over at Peavey have tried, nor do I understand if they look over any of this junk, or if any of it gets reported back to them. I decipher on a proclaim recently that there are deficient, middle, legitimate and exclusive of tour boards. I don't understand where the C30 ambit council fits in, but with some of the comments that I have seen (particulalry around...
