I noticed a Line 6 bass amp in a Musician's Flatmate magazine that was identical to my Spider III, with the exception of the name. I am planning on purchasing an ESP 104 or a Yamaha bass, and was wondering if I could obviously use the amp I had for decent

Yes, you can do that, but you won't get a extreme bass sound. They are just built differently, and a guitar amp won't give you that occupied boom sound like a bass amp would.
