Are Ridenour clarinets (Lyrique, TR147, Arioso) any good?
Tom Ridenour (formerly of Leblanc, conniver of their Opus clarinet) has been making his own hard-rubber clarinets for a few years now. He believes it's the construction of the clarinet that matters most in producing satisfactory tone, not the material.
I am a educated musician in Chicago, and have been playing clarinet for 18+ years.
My derogatory favorite is the Selmer Signature, and I use it for all of my solo performances. When playing with an orchestra though, I ONLY use the Buffet
