Mobile Symphony Orchestra succeeded on all counts Saturday night-time with its classical series opener that featured Bulgarian violinist Bella Hristova in a peerless performance of the Philip Glass Violin Concerto No. 1. That was preceded by the festive wedge of the evening, Wagner’s Prelude to Act III of “Lohengrin.”

The program closed with Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances,” which reinforced the sensation of an orchestra more than comfortable with music as disparate as the aforementioned composers.

Under the managing of Scott Speck, the MSO musicians displayed verve and self-assurance throughout a deceptively difficult program.

Mobile Symphony Orchestra continues its standard season with the second of two concerts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Saenger Hippodrome in downtown Mobile.

Che continua ad alimentare la reciproca influenza tra affinamento tecnico e didassi formativa. Il concerto, ad ingresso gratuito, è un’occasione imperdibile per gli amanti della musica raffinata d’autore eseguita da un musicista che sa coniugare virtuosismo ed espressività; l’occasione darà anche la possibilità di visitare il Museo della Gambarina, luogo della memoria storica del nostro territorio.

Per il secondo appuntamento, Parole, Suoni Colori si sposterà ad Oviglio alle ore 21 nel Palazzo Comunale venerdì 28 ottobre con il duo Novecento formato da Giuseppe Canone (sax, Clarinetti, fisarmonica) ed Ilaria Schettini al pianoforte. Il concerto è organizzato in collaborazione con OviglioArte. “Parole, Suoni, Colori” proseguirà fino a dicembre  con il seguente calendario: Venerdì 11 novembre Teatro Parvum, Alessandria ore 21,00 : Enea Leone, proporrà un suggestivo musicale chitarristico; Mercoledì 7 dicembre Museo-Enoteca di Strevi ore 21,00:”Non solo opera…” a cura di Gianfranco Cerreto (tenore), Rosanna Bagnis (arpa), Ivana Zincone (pianoforte). Domenica 11 dicembre Palazzo Comunale di Oviglio ore 17,00: “Italia, Francia, Germania, Boemia, Inghilterra, banchetti del rinascimento, note del barocco e salotti dell’’800” con il duo arpa e pianoforte Rosanna Bagnis ed Ivana Zincone.

Browsing the internet, as one does bumped into this Lignatone , which I interpret (as someone wrote in another of inquiry) it is an Amati from the '50 (?) . It looked good-looking amiable, with unusual , no reflectors red pads (more or less sealing), and with the omission of a macabre off peal soldered by someone who had no awareness of the aspect " doing a accomplished job", looks somewhat agreeable and sounded alright. Anyone has any info ? It's a pleasant horn with a very comfit, bald and actually free reliable with a very hairy husk but plainly not very ostentatious (but not frowsy either). The modulation is very careful. I don't judge it's a bigger bore. But I don't positive anything :-D The act is very gracious too, and though you have the older vogue LH pinky assemble, the C# has a lever that operates the cup to beat a hasty retreat the influence discern much more up to the minute. And it has ticklish creamy rollers :-) I reckon the soprano would be a correct buy. Did you get it? I did...... and sold it plainly away for what I had paid because it required a accomplish re-pad and it was never gonna be quality the adjustment stinking rich for it, both in terms of re-trade value or as a sportsman. This Lignatone in your relation looks very tatty, mine and others I've seen since they all look almost trade name new on account of their very well made nickel course (that in my face is talented to embalm a horn from the '30 in almost new conditions!)
