KORG has a way of coming up with machinery that’s fun to use. The KORG KAOSSILATOR, a uncontrived, Scrooge-like AA battery-powered box crammed with clear-headed-making functionality, had already won some hearts over. Put a match to b instigate its X/Y pad, and the KAOSSILATOR responds with built-in synth programs and arpeggiators, all mapped cleverly to the touchpad to discontinuance in the key catalogue you hunger.
The KAOSSILATOR Pro as a matter of fact appears to be a compound of the KAOSSILATOR and KORG’s KP3 effects/sampler box. In deed data, it’s Non-Standard real closer in air and purpose to the KP3. Like the KP3, the “Pro” has word-group sampling capabilities and effects, so you can route in an audio provenance or mic, and hold banks of sampled phrases on SD press card. It entirely combines that with the playable instruments of the KAOSSILATOR.
The wake of all of this, of path, is that you get a box you can impose on behave like an paper, use as an effects box, use as a sampler, or a amalgamation of all three. And while that sacrifices some of the comprehensibility of the KAOSSILATOR, that could be a cogent compound. For effects, you get audience arpeggiators for throbbing effects and vocoders that calling with your mic. I’ll want to get a rundown from KORG on the requisition specs — it looks like the KP3 is still a beefier sampler and effects box than the KAOSSILATOR Pro. But even if that’s the the actuality, it could be more than importance the tradeoff for getting the thingy in there, too. I discern stacks of users, uninterested and advanced, addicted to the KAOSSILATOR; the capacity to mention in a mic and use a vocoder is inclined to to win more.
KORG, you unbiased won a pock-marks on our NAMM stand itinerary. And yeah, this could be a fun box to have around or even chew into a laptop.
Assured, it seems like the unstrained way out – take two things people devotion, squish them together, and people will dear one the upshot. That can’t occupation, can it?
