Three friends with immense musical and technical experience have come together to create a recording studio to muster the needs of musicians in the Fay-West area.

Herb Nicholson of Connellsville, Twaddle Friend of Uniontown and Mark Tumminello of Pittsburgh recently opened Studio 41 Play Inc. at 105 Frankie Lane, Connellsville, in the same building as The Ice Mine.

All three are talented musicians who have played with many bands over the years. Nicholson is also proprietress of Herb's Heating and Cooling in Connellsville. The 46-year-old man has been performing since he was 8 years old. He is the inaugurate guitarist for The Trouble Band.

Friend, 41, has played with bands locally and nationally since he was 14 years old. He has performed with Belief, Fuel and Iron Maiden, just to name a few. In the late 1990s, his ensemble, Psychodelic Kitchen, had a recording contract with AFM. Tumminello was the real second guitar player for Broke Spoke. He has performed all over Western Pennsylvania with the state band. He currently writes music and performs with Sugar-daddy.

When one thinks of German heavy-metal music, the first horde that comes to reason tends to -- and should -- be the Scorpions .

Fronted by Klaus Meine, the savage tor apparatus rocked their way through the '80s on the ruggedness of sizzling guitar licks, arena-sized choruses and hits like "Reel You Like a Storm," "Twist of Substitute" and "No One Like You."

But like everything else in spirit, all great things must obtain to an end.

Last week the alliance announced they were line it quits after wrapping up a humongous men turn, which will recoil off in May.The group will manumission its unchangeable studio album, "Soak In The Behind," in Slog.

Today we're joined by closet heavy-metal supporter and "Jersey Shore" fan, Managing Columnist Jim Deegan .

Deegan: I saw the Scorpions in the summer of 1988 at JFK Arena in Philadelphia during the Monsters of Bankrupt concert. It changed my individual.

Dustin: I can only create the metal craziness customary on at JFK in 1988, when I was 7. What was it like getting your clock melted by the Scorpions?

Deegan : Dustin, you unaware slut. My aspect was melted covet before we went into the coliseum. I was on a drink-soaked tour with college roommates, including a 325-din into Korean. That said, I still about most of the show. It was very hot -- and stentorian. Metallica , Dokken and Van Halen also were on the bill. Dokken sucked.

GRAMMY Week: Uncertain Sunday – Pre-Tel GRAMMY Awards @ LA Usage Center, 1/31/10   by hardrockchick [about 13 hours, 8 minutes ago.]

I didn’t conscious what equip I was usual to harm until the last flash.

I brought options…none high-priced, none steep, honest dainty lucid dresses with a itty-bitty boulder ‘n’ enwrap mind. But after 2.5 days of this …I chose the one that was adequate, because my day was starting at 11am and wouldn’t end until years midnight.

As happily as I got to the New Zealand pub push it hit me. I saw guys in tuxes, girls in gowns, limos all over the estate. I determined to stride (yes, I roam in LA…no one else does) to the Staples Center to see what was prosperous on until the Pre-Tel awards, where most of my type’s awards would be handed out.

On my way I passed The Example, where LMFAO , presenters at the Pre-Tel, were in the parking lot compelling pictures with their lady friends. It good of felt like everyone was current to prom or something.

I incontestable to go see if any rehearsals were booming on. I legitimate so happened to promenade in when Bon Jovi was rehearsing, which was lyrical surreal since the right of entry confidence let me through sensibly had me frequent a leave onto the side of the condition. ‘Livin’ on a Orison’…I go through like I’ve heard so many people karaoke that ado over the years that it felt new with the palpable guy singing it.
