Being an Ebay colleague, I can see completed listings and here's what I've found out.
Yamaha Bass Drum - This bass drum sells on customarily for about $120. Charge about 40-50 to ship it, ship in a 24x24x20 box with spume wrap and packing
They may not be custom but I'm employed to working with what I've got, and the quality of their Prestige instruments is only great. Playing the 2228, though, isn't that much worse than playing a amazingly wide 5 string.
