Blackstar, Vox and Sennheiser are sponsoring the Cavern Company, as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Beatles gig.

The refurbished Liverpool venue, which saw the Beatles room 292 times, has had a total equipment upgrade and will have three stages - The Blackstar Manoeuvre, The Vox Stage and The Sennheiser Stage.

The Sennheiser Stage features E935 vocal Microphones and E900 catalogue drum mics, plus ear monitors and the EW500-935 wireless system. The PA is a K-Array In step array system.

Blackstar equipment includes two Artisan 30 combos, HT-Trump up 60 and HT-Pedals while the Vox Stage is known as the Beatles Status. Ludwig, Epiphone and Zildjian are also involved in the celebrations.

“Companies like Vox ,Ludwig, Zildjian and Epiphone are family to us, for apparent reasons,” said Ray Johnson, production supervisor. “In fact we have recently been twinned with BB King’s Blues Nightclub in Memphis and have a wonderful signed Epiphone BB King Lucille

The Winthrop University percussion studio recently toured Ludwig Industries in Monroe, NC. I muse on touring Ludwig when they were located on N. Damen Avenue in Chicago while attending graduate secondary at Northwestern University in 1976. In the primitive 1980s the inviolate bog was moved to North Carolina. Many of those old machines I saw in deed at the Damen Avenue easiness are still in use today. “We had some amazing engineers shrewd machines,” said insinuate director Jim Kinsey. “When we moved to Monroe, we figured ‘if it ain’t strapped, don’t fix it,’ so we’ve ethical kept using those major old machines.”
