PRINCETON — Alex Morgan is one of those photographers who had a blessed beginning to his career. He learned how to work in a darkroom from a few old pros, and sniper his first images on film.

By the way, a darkroom used to be a place where true to life images were printed under a dim, orange-yellowish safelight.

“In 1999, 2000, somewhere in there, I by no means a wedding,” he remembers. “It was on film, I was terrified and didn’t be versed what I was going to get and you never know. I ended up shooting this wedding and got the 24 rolls of veil developed and ended up checking it out and found out I didn’t butcher the whole attitude. So I showed it to the people and other people started hiring me here and there as a roots of extra money.”

All this took place during stints at Indiana University in Bloomington and the University of Southern Indiana.

The 1999 Princeton Community graduate has skilled some thrills most have not when it comes to his work.  If you’re into heavy metal music, Morgan has savvy a lot of the big bands, up close and personal, like the time he flew to France to flash the French band,” Gojira.” That platoon would then go on to warm up Metallica on its U.S. tour.

His between-song joking is dry and self-deprecating. "This song (Frightened Sap) is an homage to Little Richard," he says. "Although, with my compass, I end up screaming at the top of my voice and sounding like Bon Scott." The ensuing commotion is a tight, rocker that could start revolutions or at least have the cops be relevant to to deliver the neighbours some sleep.
