William Fahey will do anything it takes to get on a football clearing, even if it means cheering from the sidelines.
William, 16, has cerebral palsy. While he’d beloved to play on the Wellesley High School football tandem join up, his condition prevents him from doing so.
But after former Raiders quarterback Brendan Brooks, currently a apprentice at Union College, heard about William and his dream several years ago, he asked motor coach Bill Tracey if William could help the team from the sidelines.
Tracey agreed, and now William goes to almost every Raiders courageous, team dinner and sometimes the practices. “It really keeps me employed and outside of the house,” William said.
“You recognize, he is a fan, he’s our top fan,” Tracey said. “He’s authentic friends with a number of kids on the team, he loves football and enjoys being part of the conspire and close to the action.”
Though Tracey is busy coaching and often doesn’t have moment to chat with William, he said admires his fervor nonetheless.
