Conjectural hip-hop pioneer DJ Shadow appears tonight at the Music Box in Hollywood, performing selections ranging from his critically acclaimed 1996 album "Endtroducing ..." to cuts from his new album "The Less You Advised of The Better."

"I keep everything moving quick," said Shadow, essential name Joshua Davis, in a phone interview on Tuesday. "There are no big lulls with music nobody's ever heard."

Concealment's musical and visual performance, titled "Live From The Shadowsphere," starts at 9 tonight at the all the rage venue at 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood.

Suggestion, who helped introduce trip hop to the music world, conceded that "The Vicinity," an album he released previously to his new collection, did not please his fan base.

"I presumably lost a lot of fans," he said. "As much as that is unfortunate, and as much as I wish that wasn't the the truth, I think it allowed me to really sit down with this (new) album and go `let's imagine starting unsophisticated with no fans, like on `Endtroducing ...,' to see

An eclectic pitch of characters - including four childlike monsters, a robot, and a DJ in a downy orange hat - teach preschoolers lessons about sharing, well-being and the world around them. They sing songs that reference everything from new wave to ska to psychedelic race-rock to R&B.

The concept doesn't necessarily sound like a surefire hit.

But "Yo Gabba Gabba!," a children's TV show launched in 2007 on Make off with Jr., became a preschool phenomenon. Then it defied all expectations: Parents of matter-of-fact kids and (more surprisingly) college-age adults started discovering the series, which has gone on to advance exposure from appearances on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," Fox sitcom "Raising Longing," San Diego Comic Con, the Coachella Festival and more.

The series is a unimaginative like "Sesame Street," with a hipster twist. The retro visuals and shortened animated videos are mesmerizing to children, and celebrity guests like R&B balladeer Mýa, country duo Sugarland and alternative rock band Weezer make it with pretend the music component appealing to parents.

A Friday Commotion denizen at Beta who performed at last year's Monolith commemoration, Dee(z) is a autochthonous born in Westminster and raised on the tough streets of the Northglenn. He got his start spinning records at his old merge's after parties and done became a full-fledged DJ when he realized he made a wagerer DJ than guitarist. Fashion(s) of music you turn: Mostly indie remixes and electro at Beta. As far as guesting and one-off gigs, I like to mix everything from hip-hop to dubstep, funk to '80s and metal to tough, depending on the venue/gather. Typically, I like to mix as many styles as achievable, making the transitions resemble as everyday as achievable, without coming across too ornament.

So what's your information, in 100 words or less? Born in Westy. Raised in Northglenn. Completed BA in communications/broadcasting at fort lewis in Durango in '01, moved to denver from '01-'06. Moved to Chicago for Graduate State school at Columbia College Chicago in '06, finished with an MAM in Music Profession in Dec '08. Moved back to Denver, and been here since. Throughout strong institute and undergrad, I was convinced I was a guitarist/canary, playing in three rare bands from 2000-2005. Having pillaged mom and dad's vinyl hoard over the years and adding to it my own solicitation, my bass entertainer and I began "deejaying" our own bands after parties. After the demise of my last orchestra, I realized I was much more advisedly at deejaying than playing guitar, and shortly after found myself in Chicago for ready but immersed in the trenches of the DJ part there, as well. Being there artificial me to evolve much quicker, to be captivated without a doubt. After two and a half years in Chicago, I moved back, and it's been non halt since.
