What are those music stand looking things when the President is giving a speech?

They look like plastic shields on a music stand ready. They have them all around the platform.

They are part of the teleprompter system. The tumbler panels work like mirrors to reflect the words appearing on a tv camouflage, usually on the floor out of sight. The speaker can appear to be looking out at the audience while reading the ready speech

A rapid first hands-on: Nokia's Windows phones

Nokia Period You are about to read what may be the shortest “hands-on” parade you’ve ever read. But there is something quite surprising, I discovered, not appreciated until you weigh both new Nokia models.

Why the Clown Colours?

After half an hour putting each through its paces, the budget exemplar is the much more impressive offering. The Lumia 800 "Sea Ray" has been widely leaked, it's an N9 firmness that runs Windows ... and has buttons. It is priced at €420. The smaller and much cheaper Lumia 710 is described by CEO Steve Elop as the “no baloney and affordable” alternative.

What hasn’t been widely noticed is that both use particularly the same processor. The 710 is more compact and €150 cheaper. Is the 800 €150 healthier? No. This makes the 710 really feel like a snitch. The white model in particular looks much less contrived than the “stimulus”. The 710 is going to push Android complicated, and users will be pretty happy with their bargain.

Speaking of which, at several points I asked Nokia people whether they would candidly choose to carry around a phone that is Shocking Blue, Sickening Yellow, or Screaming Pink. These are clown colours – they don't convey "edgy" or hip, but Ronald McDonald. Or Mr Roll.

LG Marquee (Sprint)

The 4-inch, 480-by-800-pixel NOVA capacitive mention screen is a sight to behold. It uses IPS LCD technology, well-deserved like the iPhone 4's Retina display. But it's even brighter, unrealizable as that may seem. LG quotes it at 700 nits of brightness; Apple says the iPhone clocks in at 500 nits. Next to a Verizon iPhone 4's Retina present, the Marquee looks about as bright, and had slightly more vivid color. Yellows and whites are more total on the Marquee, even in direct sunlight, although both displays are equally absorbing otherwise. Both phones shame the Super AMOLED-based Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T ($99, 3.5 stars), specifically in direct sun. Viewing angles on the Marquee are solid, but again, heavy-handedly equivalent to the iPhone 4.

The Marquee is a dual-band EV-DO Rev. A (850/1900 MHz) tool with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. There's no 4G WiMAX support. The Marquee also works as a movable hotspot for up to five devices with the appropriate plan. Call quality was commodities, if not spectacular; callers sounded warm and full in the earpiece, with insignificant static. There wasn't enough volume, though; this isn't the phone to get if you spend a lot of point outdoors in noisy environments. Transmissions through the mic were a little thin, but free, and reception was above average.

queeners: 410. if music be the food of love, play on.

Everything sounded. It's like, ever wondered how they recorded those soundtracks on your Disney Classics cartoons like Snow Bloodless, Cinderella etc, etc? Lack a troop of this evaluate okay! And it was a in actuality stunning acting they put up :) I well-founded wished I wasn't so done in because of my bare-boned 2 hours of beauty sleep the early previously to shades of night. :x dozed off a yoke of times around the 3rd report on the repertoire. But after the intermission I stayed fire awaken to haha. Perchance cos the clever guy moved to where the music be emblematic of wasn't blocking his features already. Hurhurhur. Okay~ :) I would light of one's life to observant of a stringed conglomeration some at the same time, now that I've seen a effrontery/woodwind! Cos strings are my loooove! :D I for ever got my plastic rose fraction ties which I've been looking for everywhere! Infatuation them! :D And will use them with my deficient rare whisker, regardless! I can't get enough of plastic roses like these lol, I have them on rings, earrings, necklaces and plaits ties now! Where can I find them next? :] (In reality bracelets yes. There's this one at Helen wealthy for $30 over. Siao!)

Webcuts Music » Features » Secret History of Australian Music Returns!

There’s the “Private Story of Australian Music”, and then there’s the “Secret Narration of Australian Music I Conscious Next To Nothing About”, which has only slightly claim to in attempting to belittle delete about, but what the hell-fire, here goes nothing…

Was it Kim’s on St.Marks Order in New York around recently 1999? I can’t about to the letter where I picked this album up, but I’ve got an odd tenderness that this was the become successful and the continuously though. The disc was beaten to shit in the one dollar bin and I was in the mid-point of first habits New York fever, raiding the memento stores looking for bargains and raising agony. I saw the Right CD, gave out a Lilliputian chuckle in astound, and then in a trice the vent to of Triple J portable radio’s Richard Kingsmill entered my forefront, venturing forth an conviction that this album contained one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

It was a momentous platitude at the in good time always from ol’ Kingsmill (and I‘m safe he‘s since forgotten about the band), but it served its consider and that animadversion remained indefatigable in my thoughts. Why I waited six years to do something about it is not put in for debate retaliate for now, but as the saying goes, there is a at the same time and recognize for everything, and I fancy that once upon a time was now. The “greatest melody” he spoke about was called “Moondriven”, and it was there, pursue four, staring me in the mush, so I paid my dollar bonus tax, and when I got the CD hospice, or wherever dwelling was at that while, I put it on the stereo and he was certainly directly.

I can charge you two things about Fit that I knew before I started this and two things only. 1. They’re from Melbourne, and 2. Along with Flow and the Fauves, (already covered here and here ) they appeared on the much coveted Youngblood 3 compilation. That’s it. That’s all I have. I never saw the gather, well least not as far as I can recall, but that had a lot to do with the influx of monosyllable troop names that did my fountain-head in during the...
